Does it matter that the field's scope is set to Form if the form will never be viewed in Documaker Desktop?

Yes it does matter. If the field attribute is set to Form and the FAP file is loaded into memory during GenData processing, the first occurrence of the field's mapping will be propagated throughout the entire form.
